This project celebrates North Shields’ 800-year heritage by providing a unique and immersive view of the town’s history through the lens of the River Tyne. A short video will be produced focusing on the river’s perspective, offering a fresh and engaging narrative that highlights the integral role the river has played in shaping the town’s identity and development. 

The significance of this project lies in its ability to connect past and present, showcasing how North Shields has evolved over centuries while preserving its rich maritime and cultural heritage. Through meticulous research and expert consultations the video will present an accurate and enriching portrayal of the town’s history. Engaging with the community will bring personal stories to the forefront, fostering a deeper connection between residents and their shared heritage. 

The high-quality production and distribution of the video will ensure that the town’s story reaches a broad audience, including residents, visitors, and history enthusiasts. By celebrating the past in a visually compelling way, the project will inspire pride and appreciation for North Shields’ unique history, while providing an educational resource for future generations.
