A talk by Peter Bolger about the bombing of the Wilkinson’s Lemonade Factory in 1941.

Saturday 3/4 May 1941, midnight, North Shields. A single bomb from a lone enemy aircraft destroys the public air raid shelter in the basement of W.A. Wilkinson Ltd. Of the 192 people inside, 107 men, women and children are killed. It was one of the worst single bomb death tolls during the provincial blitz of WW2. A community was devastated.
